Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef1 can (8 oz / 227 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese½ small onion, finely chopped2 cloves garlic, minced1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce1 teaspoon paprika½ teaspoon garlic powder½ teaspoon black pepperSalt, to taste1 tablespoon olive oil1 egg, beaten (for brushing, optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.2. Cook the beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned, then drain any excess fat.3. Season the filling: Add garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Cook for another minute, then remove from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.4. Add the cheese: Stir the shredded cheddar into the beef mixture.
5. Prepare the dough: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. For larger puffs, press two triangles together to make a rectangle, sealing the seam.6. Fill the puffs: Place a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture in the center of each piece of dough. Fold the dough around the filling and pinch the edges closed.7. Brush with egg: Arrange the puffs on the baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.8. Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and fully cooked. Follow the dough package instructions if its recommended temperature differs.9. Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm while the cheese is still melted.
