Ingredients (Serves 4–5)
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Balsamic Sauce:
- ½ cup balsamic vinegar
- ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- ¼ cup honey or brown sugar
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- ½ cup chicken broth
Optional:
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (to thicken sauce)
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken
- Pat drumsticks dry.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
Mix the Sauce
- In a bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey, chicken broth, onion, garlic, and rosemary.
Slow Cook
- Place drumsticks in slow cooker.
- Pour sauce evenly over chicken.
- Cook on:
- LOW: 6–7 hours
- HIGH: 3–4 hours
Optional Thickening
- Remove chicken once cooked.
- Transfer sauce to a saucepan.
- Add cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened.
Serve
- Spoon glaze over drumsticks.
- Garnish with fresh rosemary or parsley.
