Slow Cooker 5-Ingredient Amish Unstuffed Cabbage

Ingredients (5 Simple Ingredients)

  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice

(Optional: salt & pepper to taste)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  • Brown the Beef
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the diced onion until the beef is fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Layer in Slow Cooker
    Add chopped cabbage to the bottom of the slow cooker.
    Top with the browned beef and onion mixture.
    Sprinkle the uncooked rice evenly over the top.

  • Add Tomatoes
    Pour the crushed tomatoes over everything. Do not stir yet.
  • Cook
    Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until cabbage is tender and rice is fully cooked.
  • Stir & Serve
    Stir everything together before serving. Add salt and pepper if needed.
