While the butter is melting and the milk is becoming hot, combine the two ingredients in a 2-quart (1.9 L) saucepan and cook over medium heat.2-Combine the eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a large basin. Mix in the bread squares and raisins. Combine the milk and stir.
