Crock Pot Cube Steak

Crock Pot Cube Steak is a simple, budget-friendly dish where seasoned cube steaks are slow-cooked in a flavorful gravy until fork-tender. The slow cooker transforms this economical cut of beef into a melt-in-your-mouth meal that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4–6 cube steaks (about 2 lbs)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)

Optional:

  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

 Instructions

  1. Prepare Slow Cooker
    Lightly grease the crock pot.
  2. Layer Ingredients
    Place sliced onions on the bottom. Add cube steaks on top.
  3. Mix Gravy
    In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion soup mix, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Pour & Cook
    Pour mixture over steaks. Cover and cook:
    • Low: 6–8 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
  5. Thicken (Optional)
    If you prefer thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with water and stir into crock pot during last 30 minutes.
  6. Serve
    Spoon gravy over steak and serve hot.
