Crock Pot Cube Steak is a simple, budget-friendly dish where seasoned cube steaks are slow-cooked in a flavorful gravy until fork-tender. The slow cooker transforms this economical cut of beef into a melt-in-your-mouth meal that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
- 4–6 cube steaks (about 2 lbs)
- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
Optional:
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
Instructions
- Prepare Slow Cooker
Lightly grease the crock pot. - Layer Ingredients
Place sliced onions on the bottom. Add cube steaks on top. - Mix Gravy
In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion soup mix, pepper, and garlic powder. - Pour & Cook
Pour mixture over steaks. Cover and cook:- Low: 6–8 hours
- High: 3–4 hours
- Thicken (Optional)
If you prefer thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with water and stir into crock pot during last 30 minutes. - Serve
Spoon gravy over steak and serve hot.
