Creamy Garlic Butter Seafood Skillet


Ingredients
Seafood
400 g (14 oz) white fish fillets (cod, halibut, haddock), cut into chunks
250 g (9 oz) large shrimp, peeled & deveined
Salt & black pepper, to taste
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
For the Sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken or seafood broth
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, but delicious)
½ tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
Juice of ½ lemon
Garnish
Fresh parsley or dill, chopped
Extra lemon wedges
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Season the Seafood
Pat fish and shrimp dry.
Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
Set aside.
2️⃣ Sear the Fish & Shrimp
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear fish pieces for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.
Remove and set aside.
Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
Remove and set aside with fish.
3️⃣ Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
Reduce heat to medium.
Add butter to the same pan.
Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in broth and simmer 2 minutes.
Add cream, Dijon (if using), and thyme.
Simmer gently 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
4️⃣ Finish the Dish
Stir in Parmesan until smooth.
Add lemon juice.
Return fish and shrimp to the pan.
Spoon sauce over seafood and simmer 3–4 minutes until everything is tender and coated.
