Ingredients:
10-12 chicken drumsticks (skin-on or skinless)
1/4 cup olive oil
1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or use homemade ranch seasoning)
1/4 cup soy sauce (or use tamari for gluten-free)
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for smoky flavor)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup brown sugar (optional, for sweetness)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prep the drumsticks:
Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel. This helps to get a crispy texture while cooking.
Make the marinade:
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, ranch seasoning mix, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), black pepper, and brown sugar (if using). This will be your marinade.
Marinate the drumsticks:
Place the chicken drumsticks in the crock pot. Pour the marinade mixture over the drumsticks. Toss the drumsticks around to coat them evenly in the sauce. You can also marinate the chicken in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour if you have time, but it’s optional.
Cook the drumsticks:
Set the crock pot to low and cook for 4-6 hours, or high for 2-3 hours, depending on how fast you need them cooked. The chicken will be cooked through when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Optional crispy skin:
If you prefer crispy skin, you can finish the drumsticks under the broiler in the oven. Preheat the broiler to high and place the cooked drumsticks on a baking sheet. Broil for 3-5 minutes until the skin gets crispy and golden. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
Serve:
Once done, remove the chicken drumsticks from the crock pot and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
