Ingredients
2–3 lbs beef steaks or sirloin (cut into large chunks)
1 large onion, sliced
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 cup beef broth
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for deeper flavor)
2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, to thicken gravy)
Instructions
Prepare the beef:
Place beef chunks directly into the crockpot.
Season:
Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly over the meat.
Add onions:
Spread sliced onions on top of the beef.
Add liquids:
Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce (if using).
Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours
OR
HIGH for 4–5 hours, until beef is fork-tender.
Thicken gravy (optional):
Mix cornstarch and water, stir into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Serve hot:
Spoon beef and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, egg noodles, or enjoy as is.
