Classic Homemade Lasagna

Ingredients:

12 lasagna noodles500g ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)1 onion, finely chopped3 cloves garlic, minced2 cups tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes2 tbsp tomato paste1 tsp sugar1 tsp Italian seasoningSalt and pepper to taste2 cups ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese1 cup grated parmesan cheese1 egg2 tbsp olive oilFresh parsley (for garnish)White Sauce (Béchamel):3 tbsp butter3 tbsp flour3 cups milkPinch of nutmegSalt & pepperInstructions:Cook the Meat Sauce:In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic.Add ground beef and cook until browned.Stir in tomato sauce, paste, sugar, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 20 minutes.Prepare Béchamel Sauce:In a saucepan, melt butter, add flour, and whisk for 1 minute.Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth and thick.Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg.Prepare Cheese Mixture:Mix ricotta, egg, half of the mozzarella, and half of the parmesan.Assemble Lasagna:Spread a layer of meat sauce in the baking dish.Add noodles, cheese mixture, and béchamel.Repeat layers until filled, finishing with béchamel and mozzarella on top.Bake:Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.Rest for 10 minutes before slicing
