🧾 Ingredients
2.5 kg (5.5 lbs) beef brisket 🥩
1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
1 onion, sliced 🧅
4 garlic cloves, minced 🧄
1 cup (250 ml) beef stock 🥣
1 cup (250 ml) BBQ sauce 🍯
¼ cup (60 ml) apple cider vinegar 🍎
2 tbsp brown sugar 🤎
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika 🌶️
1 tsp dried thyme 🌿
Salt & pepper, to taste 🧂
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Sear the Brisket:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 🫒🔥. Season brisket with salt & pepper. Sear 4–5 minutes per side until browned 🍖. This adds extra flavor!
2️⃣ Prepare the Slow Cooker:
Layer sliced onions 🧅 and minced garlic 🧄 at the bottom of the slow cooker.
3️⃣ Mix the Sauce:
In a bowl, combine beef stock 🥣, BBQ sauce 🍯, apple cider vinegar 🍎, brown sugar 🤎, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika 🌶️, and thyme 🌿. Stir well.
4️⃣ Cook the Brisket:
Place seared brisket on top of the onion & garlic layer. Pour the sauce over the brisket, ensuring it’s fully coated 😍.
5️⃣ Slow Cook:
Cover and cook:
Low: 8–10 hours ⏱
High: 4–6 hours ⏱
Until brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork 🍴.
6️⃣ Serve:
Remove brisket, let it rest a few minutes. Slice or shred, serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side 🥰.
