Ingredients:
8 slices of white bread
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Butter, for frying
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining 4 slices of bread to make sandwiches.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly before serving.
- Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or serve with a side of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
